2010-2011 TEAM PROJECT
Under the guidance of engineers from Pratt & Whitney Canada, Bombardier and Bell Helicopter Textron, sixteen students have to design a pylon (including structures and systems) linking a PW305A engine from P&WC to a Bombardier CRJ 700 Regional Jet aircraft fuselage. The project is divided into four teams: Manufacturing, Systems, Structures and Certification. Students are using CATIA software, and will submit their project for certification.

This year again, the team will work in collaboration with CÉGEP de Jonquière for the manufacturing of the demonstration prototype. Also, two students in the field of electrical engineering are joining the team and will work with the others in the CAMAQ's computer lab under the supervision of Dr Sylvain Turenne, Director of the Mechanical Engineering Department.

"Ordinarily, students are briefly introduced to certification. It is only once they've entered the aerospace workforce that they will learn what it really implies. Students of the Virtual Environment Option have the advantage of carrying out the certification of their solution."
